Our Goal

As seniors age and need to change their living accommodations, many are forced to leave Summit County because the housing with the levels of care our aging seniors need do not exist. When such facilities are made available in Summit County, these seniors will be able to stay in their community and near family. Our goal is to create a place for seniors to live who can no longer live at their home and in 2023 we made amazing progress towards this goal.

Our big news for 2023 is that Summit County has agreed to partner with SIS with an allocation of 1.25 acres of land in their proposed Lake Hill development!

This site is in Phase One development of the 45 acre Lake Hill community overlooking Lake Dillion and the Keystone Ski Slopes.  SIS will work with a senior housing developer and operator on a planned 5 story building for 60 seniors.  The senior community will provide continuum care which includes assisted living, skilled nursing and memory care, as well as respite and rehabilitation care.

Presently, SIS and the County are working closely with the town of Frisco to obtain water rights and sanitation service on the Lake Hill acreage.  Senior housing mixed with workforce housing in one multi-generational community has been well received by public officials.  Staying in Summit is hopeful that full entitlement for a Planned Unit Development that includes senior housing will be approved so that land infrastructure development commences in 2024.

Fundraising is important for SIS to continue pre-development planning with Summit County. Staying in Summit has been a 501 (c) (3) since 2018 and SIS has chosen to use the Colorado Gives Day program as a cost effective way to process online donations. The funding we receive will help us cover pre-development costs such as concept site and building design plans, legal fees, etc.

Checks can be mailed to P.O. Box 6029, Frisco, CO 80443. Your donation represents a very important need in our community.
